Band Camps

Band camps have a rich tradition at 4-H Camp Palmer. Every summer, students arrive at camp with instrument in hand and an eagerness to start the marching band season. With 4-H Camp Palmer as the setting, band members have space to divide out for sectional practice. There are spots for inside rehearsal. The fields are set up like a football field, so the timing and routines can be all worked out. Also at 4-H Camp Palmer, campers may get some free time in the pool or around a campfire. The communal living and family style meals also help the band bond as a team. 4-H Camp Palmer staff and its neighbors always enjoy when the band camps arrive because of the beautiful music, especially the national anthem during the flag raising.
